When you were a child, you were probably told that the entire world is on your feet. That you can accomplish anything you put your mind and efforts on. Most of you have people around you that love you and care tons about you. You believe all these things. Yes, you can rule the world. Those who love you told you so. But what about all those things that nobody tells you about life?
One thing is for sure. No matter what, nobody will ever give you a “How to” manual about life. We all have to figure our shit out all alone.

What Nobody Tells You About Life
1. You Are Alone
No matter how many people you have around you who care for you, you are always alone. Sometimes you suffer, sometimes you celebrate, but you are alone and responsible for yourself. You alone can save or destroy yourself. Accept it, make the most out of it and go on. You have a life to live.
2. Life isn’t Easy
Life isn’t easy, but it doesn’t have to be hell either. Lots of difficulties will come your way and you have to face them. There is no way out of it and it happens to all. Guess what? Whatever the difficulty is, somebody else is dealing with it right now.

Life isn’t easy for anyone. See everything as a lesson and deal with it. There is no way out.

3. People will Reject You
Not everyone in this world is compatible with everyone else and nobody can be liked by all people. And that is ok. Whether it is personal or professional relationships, you must learn to accept no as an answer and be willing to say no also when that is what you feel you need to do.
4. You Have Limited Time
Life has a time limit and nobody knows when his life will end. It might be in several years or it might be the next moment. Do not let time pass away. Whatever it is you want to do, do it now.

7. People Come and People Go
Some people come into our lives for a reason, some others for a season, and others for a lifetime. There is no reason to hold on to relationships that have ended or demand from others to stay in your life forever. We change as we grow older and so do others.
8. You Will Fail
No matter how good you are or how good you think you are, chances are you might fail before you ever succeed. And there is nothing wrong with that. Failure is just another step of the way. We have more things to learn from our failures than those we have from our successes. Don’t wait until you do everything perfectly. Do something even if you know you will most possibly fail. This is the only road ahead.

9. You Are Not Better Than Anyone Else
There are lots of others who are way better than you. More beautiful, more successful, more creative, more whatever. You are you. You have your path in life to walk. There is no reason to compare your looks, talents, or abilities with anyone else’s. You might not be the best, but you are not the worst either. You are you and you are enough.
10. Don’t Only Trust Advises. Try Yourself
Advises are good to follow but sometimes the only way we can learn is through our own experiences. You might hear tons of good advice, or read millions of books and be a well-educated person, but unless you go out and start living your life, you will know nothing about life itself. Educate yourself, choose the advice you follow, and dive deep into life itself.

What a beautiful list of very wise learnings. The sooner we learn these things, the better. I especially love what you said about money not defining our value as a person!
I would add that, no matter how bad things seem, there is always a bright side. You just have to find it!
Thank you Michelle! Yes, I do agree that no matter how bad things seem there is always a bright side. We usually get carried away and just forget to look for it.
A true picture of things. I learned that people come and go and you have to not be too worried about it.
Exactly Jamie! Thank you for commenting!
Plain truths told in a philosophical way. Nice article 👍
Thank you!
So true. This are the truth about life. Life can be ugly, but life also can be beautiful. However, we must always be grateful.
No matter how bad things may seem we always have reasons to be grateful for. I do agree with you Fadima. Thank you for commenting!
I learned these the tough way and through life. I think somehow parents should prepare kids for the tough side of life.
Most of these I think we all learn them the hard way. Thank you so much for reading and commenting!
These are some very thought provoking list about life. They are on-point. You are so right, if you don’t maintain your childhood friends, It’s hard to fine genuine friends as you get older. So we all need to cherish the friends in your life.
Thank you Kevin 🙂
Spot on! These are hard lessons to learn for most of us. It is so important to take care of yourself and watch out for yourself, because no one else will.
Thank you Heidi for reading and commenting 🙂
These are all valid point. But I think most of them is hard to acknowledge in young age, but it would be so good to learn and accept them sooner. I know I would have had some phases in life much easier if I would have already known these 20 years ago.
I think we all would but most of these are things learned by experience unfortunately. Thank you for commenting 🙂
So many valid points made. At the end of the day, all that is left is you to take care of because no one else does it better than you. Thanks for sharing
Thank you Rayo for reading and commenting ❤️
As I was reading though your post, I kept nodding to myself thinking, ‘Yep, this is bang on!’ Life isn’t easy, but it doesn’t have to be impossible either. People will reject you, and you can’t please everyone, so there’s no need to try to. Money doesn’t define you and you can’t take it with you. Everyone’s definition of success is different 🙂 Great post!
Yes, I think we can all relate to my points. You are right. Thank you for reading and commenting!
Great post – life isn’t easy and absolutely no one has it figured out….ever
Thank you for reading and commenting Sarah!
This is a well-thought list. Thanks for sharing these powerful lessons. I wish I knew more of them when I was younger.
Glad you liked it. Thank you so much for commenting 🙂
How well said this is! I just love the opening piece on how we are alone and the different ways we can experience that loneliness. Living is definitely myriad and difficult, but it is also beautiful and full of simple things worth striving for!
I have always found growth painful but how necessary it is. 🙂
No pain, no gain Jaya. Thank you so much for reading and commenting 🙂
Some really important things to learn and remember. I don’t think people need to tell you some of these though, I think it’s important that we learn these lessons ourselves throughout our lives!
I agree Jenny. Most of them even if we were told we wouldn’t understand them until we experience them ourselves. Thank you for reading and commenting!
I wish I had a post like this to read when I was younger. It’s so hard learning these lessons but I am grateful I have. It’s shaped me and my life and it’s something I’ve found myself thankful for. Thank you so much for sharing Xo

I wish so also Elle but most of them can only be learnt through personal experience. Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

Such excellent points, and it takes so long to figure all of this out. This is a great post for those still seeking to «figure life out»
Glad you liked it Giulia. Thank you for commenting 🙂
I love this! I think viewing life as a lesson is super important as is making the most of every moment we have with loved ones as you’re right, our time is limited. Thank you so much for sharing such an important post!
Time is definitely limited to all of us. Thank you so much for reading and commenting!
I love your list. A very long list which I have bookmarked, as it will be very handy to refer to when I want to watch a girlie movie. Thank you.
Thank you for commenting Liz!
This is excellent. I agree with all the points. What really hit me hard is that when you are an adult especially ‘you are alone.’ You may have friends. You may have family. But at the core, you are responsible for your own life and your own survival. no one else.
Glad you liked it Helen. It is the bitter truth we all alone.
What an honest, and very true list.. I have to say I never realized that often, growth feels like pain and confusion. That was very surprising for me and was hard to keep pushing on knowing now it wasn’t possible to go back. Thanks for sharing this!
We hardly ever understand that the pain we feel is actually growth Andrea. Thank you so much for commenting 🙂
While I would beg to differ on the first point, the rest of this is really understandable and even relatable. Life is definitely challenging but it’s also so beautiful and I’m grateful to continue learning and growing!
Absolutely Stephanie! Dispite the pain and challenges life is worth living. Thank you for commenting ❤️
Great list. I think it’s hard to imagine that nobody cares about you. Not to say that you’re not loved, but the things we obsess over with regard to what others might think is wasted energy. So much time is spent worrying about how we’ll come across to other people. I know that’s been true for me. And, that growth comes from pain. It’s sad, but true.
Thank you Cassie. It is sad to understand that growth ccomes from pain but it is true.
Finding friends when getting older is so damn difficult. And when you finally meet someone you click with, finding time to actually see each other is even harder :p
Oh, yes, good friends are hard to find. Thank you for reading and commenting 🙂
I do think kids ages from 10 to 12, hell, some teenagers should read this article. Because these are the truth which no adult will tell them.
Great job, Eri.
Haha, I don’t think only teenagers but also some grown ups should also read them. Thank you for commenting 🙂
#4 is really hard for me to grasp sometimes. I sometimes have the mindset that I can just push off things I want to do because I have ample time. But the reality is that we don’t live forever and time is limited. Great list!
We all tend to forget that we do not have unlimited time available. Thank you for reading and commenting!
Like you stated, life is beautiful but also hard. One of the things you mentioned that I resonated most with is that growth feels like a pain. I think many people have the perception that growth is enjoyable when in reality, it is one of the most uncomfortable process you will ever experience. Thank you for your candor!
Yes, definitely comes usually with pain. But it is worth it. Thank you for reading and commenting Angie!
Thank you for sharing this. We definitely understand that nobody will give us all the answers or inform us about some of life’s toughest realities. We definitely agree with failing, but we perceiving failures as shortcomings, obstacles that we have to deal with everyday on our paths to what we want out of life. It is only when you fully give up on life that you actually fail. Everything else is just an opportunity to learn, grow, and use.
Exactly! There is no failure unless we decide so. Thank you so much for reading and commenting!
You’re welcome!
Wow! This was a deep post. I especially liked ‘growth often feels like pain’.

It’s important to understand life is about learning the lessons along the way. Remain teachable and do not become hardened by the disappointments along the way. Protect your heart from becoming the things you hate. Honestly, I’m thankful for God’s daily grace and strength to endure the hard and lonely places. He is the best friend you can ever have. Thank you for sharing.

I always see the positives about life, but the truth is we all need to know that it isn’t always so pretty, and it’s at times messy and dirty. So, I think this is an important topic, and I am glad you are saying something about this. I think a lot of us come out of school thinking we will have our friends forever, and I remember tv shows would show people who had best friends for ever. It’s unrealistic, but it makes us thing that will be our forever. I am not friends with anyone from high school that I was bestie or close to back then, we are all way too different now. I found your whole list every realistic and true.
Really glad you enjoyed reading this and you found it realistic and true. It is exactly what I wanted it to be. Thank you so much for your comment!
