  1. What a beautiful list of very wise learnings. The sooner we learn these things, the better. I especially love what you said about money not defining our value as a person!

I would add that, no matter how bad things seem, there is always a bright side. You just have to find it!

    1. Thank you Michelle! Yes, I do agree that no matter how bad things seem there is always a bright side. We usually get carried away and just forget to look for it.

  2. These are some very thought provoking list about life. They are on-point. You are so right, if you don’t maintain your childhood friends, It’s hard to fine genuine friends as you get older. So we all need to cherish the friends in your life.

  3. Spot on! These are hard lessons to learn for most of us. It is so important to take care of yourself and watch out for yourself, because no one else will.

  4. These are all valid point. But I think most of them is hard to acknowledge in young age, but it would be so good to learn and accept them sooner. I know I would have had some phases in life much easier if I would have already known these 20 years ago.

  5. So many valid points made. At the end of the day, all that is left is you to take care of because no one else does it better than you. Thanks for sharing

  6. As I was reading though your post, I kept nodding to myself thinking, ‘Yep, this is bang on!’ Life isn’t easy, but it doesn’t have to be impossible either. People will reject you, and you can’t please everyone, so there’s no need to try to. Money doesn’t define you and you can’t take it with you. Everyone’s definition of success is different 🙂 Great post!

  7. How well said this is! I just love the opening piece on how we are alone and the different ways we can experience that loneliness. Living is definitely myriad and difficult, but it is also beautiful and full of simple things worth striving for!

I have always found growth painful but how necessary it is. 🙂

  8. Some really important things to learn and remember. I don’t think people need to tell you some of these though, I think it’s important that we learn these lessons ourselves throughout our lives!

    1. I agree Jenny. Most of them even if we were told we wouldn’t understand them until we experience them ourselves. Thank you for reading and commenting!

  9. I wish I had a post like this to read when I was younger. It’s so hard learning these lessons but I am grateful I have. It’s shaped me and my life and it’s something I’ve found myself thankful for. Thank you so much for sharing Xo

    1. I wish so also Elle but most of them can only be learnt through personal experience. Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

  10. Such excellent points, and it takes so long to figure all of this out. This is a great post for those still seeking to «figure life out»

  11. I love this! I think viewing life as a lesson is super important as is making the most of every moment we have with loved ones as you’re right, our time is limited. Thank you so much for sharing such an important post!

  12. I love your list. A very long list which I have bookmarked, as it will be very handy to refer to when I want to watch a girlie movie. Thank you.

  13. This is excellent. I agree with all the points. What really hit me hard is that when you are an adult especially ‘you are alone.’ You may have friends. You may have family. But at the core, you are responsible for your own life and your own survival. no one else.

  14. While I would beg to differ on the first point, the rest of this is really understandable and even relatable. Life is definitely challenging but it’s also so beautiful and I’m grateful to continue learning and growing!

  15. Great list. I think it’s hard to imagine that nobody cares about you. Not to say that you’re not loved, but the things we obsess over with regard to what others might think is wasted energy. So much time is spent worrying about how we’ll come across to other people. I know that’s been true for me. And, that growth comes from pain. It’s sad, but true.

  16. Finding friends when getting older is so damn difficult. And when you finally meet someone you click with, finding time to actually see each other is even harder :p

  17. #4 is really hard for me to grasp sometimes. I sometimes have the mindset that I can just push off things I want to do because I have ample time. But the reality is that we don’t live forever and time is limited. Great list!

  18. Like you stated, life is beautiful but also hard. One of the things you mentioned that I resonated most with is that growth feels like a pain. I think many people have the perception that growth is enjoyable when in reality, it is one of the most uncomfortable process you will ever experience. Thank you for your candor!

  19. Thank you for sharing this. We definitely understand that nobody will give us all the answers or inform us about some of life’s toughest realities. We definitely agree with failing, but we perceiving failures as shortcomings, obstacles that we have to deal with everyday on our paths to what we want out of life. It is only when you fully give up on life that you actually fail. Everything else is just an opportunity to learn, grow, and use.

  20. It’s important to understand life is about learning the lessons along the way. Remain teachable and do not become hardened by the disappointments along the way. Protect your heart from becoming the things you hate. Honestly, I’m thankful for God’s daily grace and strength to endure the hard and lonely places. He is the best friend you can ever have. Thank you for sharing.

  22. I always see the positives about life, but the truth is we all need to know that it isn’t always so pretty, and it’s at times messy and dirty. So, I think this is an important topic, and I am glad you are saying something about this. I think a lot of us come out of school thinking we will have our friends forever, and I remember tv shows would show people who had best friends for ever. It’s unrealistic, but it makes us thing that will be our forever. I am not friends with anyone from high school that I was bestie or close to back then, we are all way too different now. I found your whole list every realistic and true.
